The Debbie Millar School of Dance has been established for thirty five years, originally based in Suffolk and Norfolk before moving to Colchester, Essex, more than twenty years ago. Run by highly qualified and experienced dance teachers, each class is as well-structured and inspiring as it is friendly and fun.

From Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and Disco to  Street and Hip Hop, The Debbie Millar School of Dance offers a full range of professional dance lessons for tiny tots to adults, with classes available for beginners right through to advanced standards.

Each dance session is a great opportunity for students to improve their fitness, technique and self-confidence whilst interacting with others and enjoying themselves. We make sure there is something for everyone, whether it is to support the natural development of the students, motivate them with an enjoyable workout or to fulfil their dram of becoming a professional dancer or qualified teacher.

In addition to taking examinations set out by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), students are encouraged to perform in our annual shows and charity events. In recent years, groups of children from the school have performed at the London Palladium and Disneyland Paris, as well as joined us on trips to France, Germany and Poland.

Please browse the site for more detailed information or contact us to discuss your requirements.

The Debbie Millar School of Dance opens up a world

of opportunities for its dancers.

We look forward to welcoming you to the school.

We have received a number of enquires from people

asking how the “Law of 6” affects our dance classes.

We employ the services of a professional COVID-19

advisor who tells us that “the “Law of 6” is focussed

on social interaction where people are less likely to

maintain strict social distancing and mitigation”.

He also tells us that as a “COVID Secure” business following our own Risk Assessment and with mitigation

in place we may continue to operate.

The ISTD have also advised that recreational dance

classes can continue where they follow the current

COVID guidelines, and they too emphasize that it is important for all parties to maintain social distance

with actions taken to reduce the risk of transmission between households.

And so, at least for now, “keep on dancing!”
